Last week, Itential had the pleasure of presenting at our second Networking Field Day, where we showcased some of the latest product features and capabilities that enable automation across network and cloud infrastructure. While we’re no longer NFD newbies, it was our first virtual Gestalt IT event.

We had the opportunities to present to 12 delegates that included the likes of Dave VarnumBrian Gleason, Aaron Conaway, Matt Haedo, and more. While we would have preferred to meet in person, we really enjoyed our virtual discussions and time with these delegates, who had some great input and questions for us.

In case you missed us live, here’s a breakdown of Itential’s presentation to watch on-demand:

Itential for Network & Cloud Automation

Your network exploded on the internet and network engineers need a way to simplify the management and automation of network infrastructure across both CLI and API services. That is the foundation of our first session where CTO & Co-Founder, Chris Wade, introduces Itential and our suite of products that provide intelligent automation for physical and cloud network infrastructure. During his session, Chris goes through our Guiding Principles for Network Automation, takes a deep dive into how and why networks became so complex as they exploded on the internet, and discusses why network and cloud teams can no longer work in silos. Itential is an automation platform that supports both teams across their network and cloud infrastructure, whether it’s CLI or API-based.

CLI Automation with Itential’s Automation Gateway

Next up, Rich Martin, Solution Technical Marketing Engineers tackles the topic of how Itential supports CLI-based automation efforts across network and cloud teams. Teams have large investments in CLI and CLI-based automations, but lack a straightforward way to organize, share, and run their automation assets from a secure, centralized application. In this session, Rich demos how the Itential Automation Gateway organizes CLI-based automations of different types, shares them inside and outside the networking organization, and allows them to be run with proper authorization, security, and accountability.

API Automation with Itential’s Automation Studio

Next up, Alex Degitz, Senior Product Manager, discusses how Itential supports API-based automation efforts. Network automation requires integration with a growing set of IT systems, most of which are managed best through API-based methods. In this third session, Alex demos how Itential’s Automation Studio quickly builds network automations across any on-prem and cloud network infrastructure or IT system. So quick in fact, he let the audience choose the use case to demo. This approach further simplifies the process of using APIs in a low-code, drag-and-drop environment.

Network & Cloud Configuration & Compliance with Itential’s Configuration Manager

Last but not least, Karan Munalingal, Head of Sales Engineering, covers how our latest product release enables supports both CLI and API-based automation across configuration and compliance. While networking infrastructure has become more complex with organizations adopting evolved concepts such as SD-WAN, Multi-Cloud and Edge; NetOps teams are still responsible for providing governance across the entire expanded network and need new tools to automate configuration compliance across both CLI and API driven networking landscape. In our final session from NFD, Karan demos a modernized and robust approach to achieving operational consistency by defining a configuration compliance and remediation strategy across network devices and cloud native infrastructure with Itential’s Configuration Manager application.

Our second NFD event was another great session as thoughtful conversations occurred, questions were asked, and fun was had. Check out the full highlights of the day here. We can’t wait for the opportunities to bring more to our next Networking Field Day!
