Itential Empowers Enterprises to Advance their Network Automation Journeys

2021 was a year of momentous growth for network and cloud automation leader

ATLANTA, December 8, 2021 — The past 12 months have delivered rapid changes in the networking industry brought on by the adoption of cloud infrastructure, which enterprises have begun to address with network automation solutions. In fact, Gartner predicted that by 2022, network teams will spend triple the amount of time working in public cloud infrastructure than they do today. In response to the increased adoption of public cloud network infrastructure, and the unique challenges associated with managing hybrid infrastructure, Itential has delivered innovative network automation solutions to help enterprises excel in this new normal. Through significant funding, product updates, team expansions, and new partnerships, Itential, the leader in network and cloud automation software, provides a simplified approach to managing environments across physical, virtual, and cloud-native infrastructure.

It has been a momentous year for Itential, marked by increased funding, team expansion, and technological advancements. Early in 2021, Itential raised $20 million in Series B financing from Elsewhere Partners, an investment earmarked for the acceleration of Itential’s core business and its efforts to continue building its Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offering and expand its reach within the global enterprise market. This remains a core focus for Itential as the company heads into 2022.

Continuing to advance its position as the leading network automation provider within the market, Itential debuted significant advancements to its cloud-native network automation platform, which enables network teams to try Itential for free and begin automating tasks in minutes. Itential also received its SOC 2 Type 1 attestation, and was one of the first cloud-native network automation solutions to obtain its SOC 2 Type 2 audit, further widening the gap between itself and other network automation solutions with these latest designations. These updates were joined by new configuration management capabilities for simplifying device configuration, compliance, and remediation across physical, virtual, and cloud-native networks. This was supported by an enhanced low-code automation canvas for simplified self-service creation of end-to-end automations as well as new analytics capabilities to help NetOps teams measure and prioritize automation value.

In 2021, Itential saw a total 31% increase in headcount across the company, including the introduction of Chief Financial Officer, Nicolas Alberga, continued global expansion, launching new operations in the Asia Pacific market, and hiring former Red Hat Ansible Executive, Peter Spyrgada as Vice President of Product Management.

This team expansion was accompanied by developments within key industry partnerships that enhanced business operations via network orchestration and automation, offered seamless closed-loop automation, and delivered 5G network slicing automation. The continued collaboration with Lumen, Forward Networks, and Kaloom provides Itential customers with the technology they need to modernize network compliance and automate all their networks. For example, S&P Global developed a network automation strategy using the Itential Automation Platform to automate and orchestrate both traditional and emerging network technologies. It can now provide self-service capabilities that significantly improve agility, velocity, and better align network services and capabilities with business objectives.

Findings from a November 2021 Itential survey confirm that any network automation initiative should also include automated configuration compliance enforcement as a foundational building block. Moreover, configuration compliance should be applied to automation initiatives across any part of the network, from the data center to the cloud and out to the edge.

“Enterprises today are facing extensive challenges as their networks demand new and expanded support to further organizational growth,” said Ian Bresnahan, President and CEO, Itential. “We see network automation as a natural solution to those challenges. By providing powerful network compliance and automation software to companies worldwide, network teams can answer the call for network modernization with confidence, and effectively reinforce and enable their own digital transformation initiatives.”

Closing out the year, Itential was awarded as the Orchestration & Automation Innovation of the Year winner of the 11th edition of Angel Business Communications’ premier IT awards – the Storage, Digitalisation + Cloud Awards. With 150+ nominations and over 80 finalists, Itential is proud to have its achievements recognized among the IT community who have innovated like never before to ensure business continuity in such challenging times.
